Barry Donadio For Queen Anne’s County
Commissioner District 3
Strong Conservative Leadership Backed By
Over 20 Years Of Public Service Experience
Under my leadership, the safety and welfare of the people of Queen Anne’s County will be my top priority. I will move forward making our county a place we can all safely live, work and play. My administration will focus on increasing opportunity for sustainable business growth, while protecting our vital environment, our waterways and the Chesapeake Bay. Our county is the jewel and gateway to the Eastern Shore of Maryland and I will work to maintain its beauty.
Keeping Our Schools Safe
I have two beautiful daughters currently attending
Queen Anne’s County Schools. I support our schools and applaud the steps
already taken to keep our children safe and well educated, but there is always
more that can be done and I will get it done. I want
Police Officers in all of our schools (including the elementary schools). I am
going to also increase and improve physical security integrated with
information technology security systems. This will allow law enforcement to be
notified in real-time in order to decrease response time and mitigate injuries
to our school staff and children. I will sort at no length to keep our children safe.
I will no longer permit the residents of our county to
be prisoners to dreadful traffic conditions. My plan will include creating and
implementing a proven innovative traffic incident management strategy for the
present and future to prevent prolonged traffic congestion in our county. Reconsideration of the Cox Creek Connector and other ways to relieve traffic are in my plan.
My goal is to create more medium to upper wage jobs
for our county. I want to provide residents the opportunity to obtain
prosperous employment without a long commute. I plan to invite reputable
defense companies to our county’s industrial parks, to increase the opportunity
of good paying jobs for our residents. Being a small business owner, I know how
hard it is to start and maintain a profitable business. I want to provide free business
training to all our business entrepreneurs to get them on the right track for
success. I will also make it easy for all businesses in the county to grow and
flourish. I will work with our
local business organizations and the Chamber of Commerce to incorporate new
ideas that will vitalize county small businesses.
Keeping Taxes Low
I don’t like taxes anymore than the next person. My
agenda is to keep taxes as low as possible. Fiscal responsibility is high on my
priority list. Wasteful spending will be stopped under my administration, and
money will be appropriated to ensure efficient and purposeful use of our tax
dollars. Under my leadership, our county will no longer be raked over the coals
regarding expenses. I will oversee our county’s finances with line by line
budget itemization and make appropriate changes to keep taxes low.
Hard Stance Against Crime & Heroin
The plague of our current generation is heroin and
opioid addiction and I am going make this crisis a top priority in my
administration. I will give our Law Enforcement authorities the financing and
cooperation to hunt down drug dealers and hold them accountable to the fullest
extent of the law. I will work to increase support and cooperation with all other
Police agencies that patrol our county. I will petition the Board of Education
to increase anti-drug education at younger ages, to warn our children of the
horrors of this addiction. I am going to create a bipartisan panel of persons
that include those who were formerly addicted to drugs and Law Enforcement
Officers. This panel would advise my administration on solutions to solving the
increasing problem in our county. Those already addicted will get the full
support of my administration to help them in their recovery and path to future
success. The front-line defense of
our county against crime and drug use are the First Responders. I will support
these dedicated men and women, by making sure they have all the equipment
necessary to do their difficult jobs. Under my administration there would be
more Law Enforcement Officers patrolling our county. I will support the
Sheriff’s Department in their new Cadet program and their Reserve Deputy

Use: What process should be used to update the Comprehensive Plan, and what
particular issues need to be addressed?
believe that the comprehensive plan is good as it currently is and should
remain the same for now. There may be minor updates that it can use for traffic
and environmental concerns ahead. A democratic process of checks and balances
should be used any time we make a change to the plan. Experts from all sides
also need to provide input when a change to the plan is needed.

including the new Bay Bridge crossing issue?
